Opera Returns to Christ Church in Colliers Wood
Saturday 30 November sees the return to Colliers Wood of Opera Alegria after an absence of a numbe of years.
They are presenting a fund raising opera gala for your delight, and there’s also an opportunity for you to take part.
A scratch chorus is being assembled. If you fancy joining in there is a rehearsal at 4pm to 5:30 in the church and the repertoire is Brindisi from La Traviata, Va Pensiero, and The Prayer from Rossini’s Mosè in Egitto.
Admission to the concert, which begins at 7;30pm, is £15, £10 for concessions and £8 for Under 16s. Payment in cash or by card.
There will also be a bar so you can sit and have a drink whilst you listen.
Whilst we are at it, there is a new edition of the talking news for your entertainment. Introduced by Barbara, edited by Ian and read by Barbara, Rob, Carole and Ian, it is available for you to download and listen. You know where to find it. It features an update from Sally at MertonVision, too.
The normal magazine this week is replaced by and edited recording to the MertonVision Annual General Meeting which took place on 21 November 2019. Denny has somehow managed to edit this down to 48 minutes, so get a brew and settle down and catch up with how our friends have done in the last year and their plans for the future.
